This course is an introduction to air pollution, topics to be covered include sources (emissions) of air pollution, both gaseous and particulate, interaction of air pollution with our bodies and the environment, and methods of measuring, quantifying, analyzing, and controlling air pollution.

This course follows a unified approach to introduce the physical origins and rate equations of

mass transfer. The principal topics covered include different processes; Gas Absorption, Liquid – Liquid Extraction and Drying, development of transport models from first principles. Study the effect of different parameters on mass transfer processes such as temperature and pressure. Designing the absorber towers (packed and plate towers)
